Founded in Beijing in 1996 by Gang Wang and Di Liang, Meizhou Dongpo draws inspiration from Su Dongpo, the celebrated Chinese scholar, poet, and renowned food enthusiast. The name “Meizhou” comes from the ancient name of Meishan in Sichuan, Su Dongpo’s birthplace, reflecting the restaurant’s deep connection to Sichuan culture and culinary tradition.

Since entering the United States in 2013, Meizhou Dongpo has been dedicated to sharing the richness of Chinese cuisine through authentic flavors, traditional cooking techniques, quality ingredients, and thoughtful presentation. Our philosophy is to preserve the character of classic Chinese dishes while creating a refined and welcoming dining experience for every guest.
